"Cosens Bay” is nestled in the north end of Kalamalka Lake inside Kalamalka Provincial Park. Protected by the park, access to the bay is limited to foot, bike, or boat—preserving the natural beauty of the area. Kalamalka Lake itself has often been called one of the most beautiful freshwater lakes in the world, known for its emerald green colours. The rich colours of the lake and the trees on the north side of the hills are a contrast to the ponderosa pines, wild grass, and sagebrush that thrive on the valley floor and south-facing hills.
This 220-degree panorama picture was taken from a ledge high in the park and faces south down the Okanagan valley. The long peninsula in the park that juts out into the lake is named Rattlesnake Point.
Dean used a digital camera to shoot this photograph on a clear July morning. He is passionate about capturing the beauty of the Okanagan valley.
