"Adventure Bay” describes the peninsula that splits the north end of Okanagan Lake - the main lake on the north side, and the Vernon arm in the foreground. Located in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, Okanagan Lake is the largest and deepest lake in the southern interior of BC. Stretching almost 150km south through the middle of the Okanagan Valley, it is also home of the famous mythical creature, Ogopogo.
This panorama picture was taken from a natural land bench that rises hundreds of feet above the level of the lake opposite from the bay. The colours and vegetation in this shot are a clue to the areas arid climate and why tourists flock here all year long.
Dean used a digital camera to shoot this photograph on a clear summer day in early September. He is passionate about capturing the beauty of the Okanagan valley in all his work.
