Wedding portrait photography taken outdoors, on-location, to show an interaction with the environment through posing and styling.
A general commercial photographer shoots a wide variety of subject areas including advertising, aerial, architectural, editorial, illustration, business portrait, fashion, construction, public relations, scientific, animals, legal, annual report, on-site, in-plant and industrial photography.
An architectural photograph must successfully define and/or portray outstanding architectural features of a building interior or exterior by dramatic use of point of view, perspective and lighting. Must demonstrate how to control distortion and perspective within the entry.
Images must be a “cut above” in their impact and visual interest to illustrate the natural and man-made geographical features relating to our environment. These include landscapes, seascapes, mountains, aerials, and cityskylines.
Shows photographer’s creative and technical ability to shoot a wide variety of portraiture including outdoors, in the studio, families, groups, singles, adults, children/babies, business headshots, full length, and 3/4 length portraits.
Accreditation is a National designation that demonstrates that the photographer is capable of delivering above average photography in a chosen category. It is achieved by submitting samples of the applicant’s photography to a Porfessional Photographers of Canada (PPOC) Board of Review and can take several years to achieve. In assessing Accreditation submissions, the judges will consider the following criteria:
