Classic Tradition - Group wedding portraits like this have a timeless charm to them, especially when a classic car is involved. This beauty was just recently accepted and hung at the 2008 National Print Salon in London, ON.

Captured in Polson Park in summer using a natural lighting technique called open shade. The trees above and behind the group provided the dark uncomplicated background and blocked the direct sunlight, yet allowed enough light through to highlight their hair. The open sky in front of them acted like a huge softbox and lit their faces with beautiful soft 3 dimensional light. The result is an image that has great potential for a wall portrait.

Okanagan Golf at Sunset - View of one of the holes at the new Golf Club at Tower Ranch in Kelowna during a sultry sunset in the fall of 2007.

This is a High Dynamic Range (HDR) photograph as you can tell from its sultry soft glow and by how the exposure works from shadows right up to the highlights. How else could you shoot into the sun and still keep the detail?

The Dancer - Metal Sculpture by Vernon’s Cory Fuhr residing in the lobby of the Performing Arts Centre in Vernon.

I photographed this on stage at the Performing Arts Centre in Vernon. 4 studio lights were used to light this life-size art piece; a 6ft. softbox above, a 72” diffusion panel as main, umbrella reflector as fill, and a small diffusion panel for backlight. Something this beautiful deserves to be lit well.
