Artwork Installed at Kelowna Airport
A 13.5 ft. x 4 ft. 3-piece panoramic image called a Triptych was commissioned and installed in the new departure side of the Kelowna International Airport. The art piece, called Lakeside Vineyard, compliments the theme of the new bar & grill there, and was captured in Penticton looking north toward Naramata.
Pictured in the photograph is Jenelle Turpin, airport communications manager, and the person I worked with to get the job done on time before the holiday season rush.
Thanks Jenelle.

Artwork installed at KLO campus
Five 90x24in panoramas were installed permanently in the new Learning Centre building at the Okanagan College KLO campus. Each floor of the 5 story building represents a region of the Okanagan and Columbia Shuswap, the area serviced by the college, so the large commercially mounted and laminated art pieces were mounted in the same location on each of those floors.
Pictured in the photograph are Heather Schneider, Dean of the KLO campus, and your truly photographer Digital Dean. Each art piece has its own black granite name plate with the name of the image, the location, and the photographer’s credit. Image names are Okanagan Beach, City on the Lake, Valley Paradise, Lakeside Vineyard, and Columbia River City.

Local Photographer honoured at City Hall
The City of Vernon has commissioned the work of Dean Cebuliak, also known as Digital Dean, of Digital Dean Photo Studios, to produce for City Hall a landscape photo of Vernon. The framed photo, sized at 90 x 30 inches, is proudly displayed in the Administration office at City Hall.
“We had seen Dean’s pictures of Vernon and were impressed with his work. The landscape photo has a nice anchor identity for City Hall,” said Leon Gous, Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Vernon.
Renovating the Council Chamber and adorning the walls with local art is part of the process of making City Hall a more welcoming environment.
“The commissioning of this work was in an effort to improve the perception of City Hall, to remodel how we look, and to be more inviting,” said Mayor Lippert.
This panoramic photo had never been unveiled before. Cebuliak had been recreating this scene every year since 2002, taking shots when the weather, lighting and seasons were different. This meant scouting the area several times, checking the sun at different times and angles. He came up with this masterpiece in the summer of 2004.
While perhaps best known for his landscapes, Cebuliak also does commercial photography, weddings and portraits. He was recognized by his peers earlier this year with two pieces hung in the 2005 print salon, Illustration and Pictorial categories, for the Professional Photographers Association, and is currently working on his environmental wedding accreditation.
“Making anything beautiful is my passion – from architecture, product, and advertising images, to people,” he said. “For years now I’ve wanted to have a panoramic image in City Hall. This photograph was created with archival inks and a UV laminate, so it will last a long time; forever capturing 2004. It is a legacy.”
